FAQ

Where do we meet?

Our dock is located at La Siesta Marina in Islamorada at mile marker 80.5 bayside in the Florida Keys. With great facilities like air conditioned bathrooms, showers and ample parking La Siesta is the most beautiful marina in town.

Can I keep some fish for dinner?

Absolutely, here in the Florida Keys we have a vast number of species, with some of the best varieties to eat. Most restaurants in the keys will cook your fresh catch for a meal to remember. We will fillet and prepare your catch to take to your favorite restaurant.

Any fish mounting service?

Beats Land Charters can arrange for you to have your trophy fish mounted with Grey Taxidermy, the world's largest marine taxidermy company.

What do I have to bring?

  • We provide a cooler full of water and ice. You are more than welcome to bring any food or drinks you like.
  • A camera is highly recommended, there is extensive beauty and many fishing memories to be recorded in our charters. If you forgot your camera Capt Juan will provide you with some great pictures taken throughout the trip.
  • Even though we live in a tropical paradise a light jacket is recommended, our boat is fast and a jacket will protect you from the elements while on our way to and from the fishing grounds. If you forgot your favorite jacket don't worry we always have extras.
  • Sun protection is very important here in the Florida Keys and highly recommended. A hat and good sun block are a must.
  • Polarized sunglasses are essential to help you cut through the glare on the water and help you see the fish.
  • Can I bring my own fishing rod?

Absolutely, we all know we have that one special fishing rod we are in love with. Capt Juan will rig your rod and put it to the test with that special trophy fish you have been looking for.

Great time of the year to be fishing in the Florida Keys Backcountry! The boat traffic in the Everglades National Park its minimal therefor putting less pressure on the fish. There are many species to be targeted both in the shallow areas of the park as well as in gulf water. So if you are a begginer angler or have a lifetime of experience in the water there is a great fishing adventure waiting for you in the Florida Keys backcountry.

It's summer time here in the Florida Keys backcountry fishing report. The fishing pressure on the Everglades National Park and surrounding waters is minimal making for some great fishing. Snook, Redfish, Tarpon, Snappers, Groupers, Barracudas and many more are all available. We recommend half day charters living the dock early and coming back before noon therefore beating the heat. We can guarantee you will catch plenty of fish and have plenty more for dinner or to bring home. Give us a call so we can make your next Florida Keys backcountry fishing adventure one to remember.
